Shared here by Andy Bain is a photo of Jón Páll Sigmarsson (the Viking) at Blantyre Highland Games. Jon Pall was competing in the strongman events and was somewhat of a celeb that year. He would later die young 4 years afterwards.
Zooming in on the crowd, I wonder if you can recognise anybody in there. I can’t see anybody I know, but being 1989, there are plenty shell suits, perms and “shoulderpadded” clothes.
