Jim Cochrane contacted me in January 2015 with the following message and photos.
“My great Uncle Bobbie Or Robert Marshall is pictured here. He Served as a despatch Rider in WW2 . I think these pictures were probably taken during training. He was born at Calderside Farm in 1921 and lived all his life there only going away to serve in the war. He never married but worked on the farm. To my knowledge he never took a day off and never had a holiday in his whole life . He was never in hospital or at the Doctors ever.”
