im researching my family tree, my great grand mother’s wedding certificate states she was living at 32 Clyde Street Newton, her name Agnes Kilmurray she married Bernard Smith ( a miner) he was living at 20 Pitt Street Newton

both homes I think were linked  to the colliery

I have a electronic copy of their marriage but struggling to get any further with tracing their parents ? My grand mother- who late lived in Birkenshaw, Uddingston  told me as a child she would often walk along the rail,way track from Uddingston to Newton to visit her grandmother- so the families must have stayed in Newton for a while

wonder if you can shed any information that might help me ?
