Hi, I am contacting on behalf of my husband who is not on Facebook. He believes his Grandfather was George Mitchell, he had 8 brothers some of which were named Patrick and William and 1 sister, fathers name Samuel Mitchell, came from Lithuania and married Mary Ward. We believe George was born around 1922 and lived in Baltyre from birth up until 1940s. Some of the family definitely stayed in Blantyre for longer but not sure. He would love any information you may have on him. Thankyou for your time.

Emma - I'm sorry. I've not been able to help with this one. I can't find any record of George Mitchell and with census information only going up to 1921 in my subscriptions, I'm unable to check beyond that. Additionally I couldn't find Samuel Mitchell in any Blantyre Valuation roll between 1920 and 1940. There is a Patrick Mitchell in valuation rolls, but he would be an adult even in the early 1920s. The only marriage I could find between a Mitchell and Mary Ward was in 1941 in Holytown, which doesnt fit. I'm kind of stuck and with things so significantly not fitting into records, some of the initial information may not be correct? If there's anything else you can add or confirm as 100% fact, that would be great. Otherwise, wishing you the best with this. Paul
