Good afternoon, I was wondering if you would have any existing knowledge of or be able to help me in researching some of my fathers side of the family. My grandfather was born in Blantyre in 1911 (born oct 28th, registered Nov 10th) and named Philip Allan, his father was William Allan (coal miner) and his mother was Mary Allan (maiden name McGuire), according to Philips birth certificate his parents were married on Dec 29th 1899 in Blantyre. I was never able to meet my grandfather and my father has very little knowledge of his grandparents. His grandfather was unfortunately deceased by the time he was born and he remembers little of his grandmother besides that he recalls her being Irish. I was hoping you would be able to uncover some information about them both as I have found essentially nothing on websites like ancestry.com. My grandfather Philip was raised Catholic so I was curious if both his mother and father were of Irish ancestry and where they may have emigrated from in Ireland if such information exists and if Philip's brothers or sisters still have living children and grandchildren as my father has completely lost touch with any relations.
