I would date this outdoor photo as 1927, for the children are thought to be Lily, Agnes and Mary. Although Udston Farm was not in Blantyre Parish, it sat in Hamilton Parish, just slightly over the boundary and these Blantyre folks are known to have moved to Udston. I have no problem in posting given the Blantyre connection.
The lady in the background is of course Jim’s gran as a young woman. Here’s a closer look at this striking, beautiful lady, a few years later in a studio pose, rather than on the farm!
