Hi can you help my Gran Mary Baillie I don't know much about her family which are the Hutchison's all I know is her dad David Hutchison was a miner and worked in Glenbuck then moved to Blantyre.I also don't know a lot about my dad's family my Papa's brothers his name was Andrew Baillie he had sisters also one was Sarah who became a Nurse and the other Eliza who was Deaf and Dumb.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.David

I have no idea if this is relevant to you but I came across this post after googling my own name so it could be a complete coincidence. My name is Andrew Baillie Hutchison and I live in Brisbane, Australia. My father is called Baillie Hutchison and his father is Matthew Hutchison, who was a Scotsman from Gilmerton, from a long line of coal miners. He left behind 8 siblings when he emigrated to Australia in ~1950s. My Hutchison family has a long history of the name Baillie and have been present in and around Gilmerton since at least the early 1700s, mostly all miners. I heard that the tradition of adding Baillie was taken from the maiden name of a woman very far back in the family tree. Anyway hope this helps
