Myra Laird & Jim Mackie

1964 Myra Laird & Jim Mackie wmWishing to add a wedding photo to the large growing collection of Blantyre wedding photos on Blantyre Project, Carole Mackie Rickard told me, “Here’s a pic of my Mum & Dads. Marion (Myra) Laird of 3 Morag Avenue, married Jim Mackie of 297 Glasgow Road at David Livingstone Memorial Church on 1st August 1964. They set up home in Central Buildings before moving to Watson Street after my eldest sister was born in 1966. My mum passed away in 2005, my Dad still lives in Watson Street.”

If you would like your wedding photo added to our permanent archive with just a line or two of words attached, please feel free to send any in.

  1. Wilma and her parents lived next door to my sister Alice. Perfect neighbours and a lovely family. I remember Wilma from Calder Street school.
Chatted with her parents a few times over the fence on some of my trips. 1982 when I was back for the Junior Cup final, which of course, the ‘VICS won! A bit more than a chat, more like a blether!

  2. I am in touch with Hughina now and again via e mail, I met up with Hughina a few years ago for lunch at the Avonbridge in Hamilton during one of my trips. A lovely lady.
She has 2 sons who share my passion in football.
