Throughout the 20th Century and into the 21st Century many Blantyre pupils also attended schools slightly outwith the Parish. Namely:

1. Dalton Special School,
2. St Johns,
3. Hamilton Grammar,
4. St Cuthberts,
5. Holycross High School and
6. John Ogilvie
7. Elmwood School

Additionally, when new Schools were being constructed elsewhere in Lanarkshire, sometimes pupils briefly attended Blantyre Schools during the build. An example of this is:
1. Muiredge Primary School who were temporarily accommodated at St Josephs Primary School, Blantyre.

The School that nearly came to be. Blantyre RC Secondary School and Part 2

and finally, let’s not forget the arrival of University of the West of Scotland.
