I’ve not quite finished yet with stories and pictures of William Rae, the Bloodless Surgeon.
These illustrations were from the Illustrated Police News of July 1904 and show men, women and children being cured of their ailments at William Rae’s home on Station Road, Blantyre. The former miner, nicknamed the “bloodless surgeon” hosted many hundreds of people at his home at Raploch Crescent at the top of Station Road. The pictures, hand drawn show crowds outside the cottage and various people discreetly behind screens indoors being seen by Mr Rae.
