I received this message saying, “My family lived in Blantyre, so I’m trying to do some research around this. This is my great gran Sarah Jane Hood sitting in the middle row, however I cannot locate the house this was taken at.”

Unfortunately, I can’t find Sarah Jane Hood in any local census or Valuation roll, so perhaps her time in Blantyre was brief? I did see a Sarah Jane Hood in Glasgow. The photo looks 1920s or 30s. As for the location, it doesn’t look like any Blantyre building still standing, the railings to the left hinting it may have had a basement level? I’m unsure of the professions / uniforms too. Not much help I know in this instance, so I’m opening up the post for additional info, any comments and advice.
