2015 Calderside Trees at the junction of Calderside Rd (PV) in January
One cold morning in January 2015, I set off on a walk to Sydes Brae and found myself at the end of Auchentibber Road at Calderside. Despite grey skies, the trees and scenery still managed to captivate me, with its excellent views down to Calderglen and out across to East Kilbride.
The mature trees, quite bare in Winter, the browns and yellows of Winter colours. The lack of greenery. I distinctly remember that day longing for Summer to return.
At the corner of the Calderside Road, at its junction with Auchentibber, is a ruined stone wall. Set within the wall, appears to be an old abandoned postbox although i could not see any post box marked on a map. If this curious stone had another function, I’d love to know what it was!
