Plans were submitted in September 2019 for a brand new roundabout on the outskirts of Blantyre. The proposal aimed to remove the T junction at Calder Road and Blantyreferme Road , building a new roundabout with associated realigned approaches and drainage. The roundabout will be significant stretching from the current entrance of Redlees Park beyond the existing junction.
Planning was approved in early 2022 and as you can see contractors have already started the advance tree clearance. This is an area which is going to look significantly different by the end of 2022.
