Now, I have to admit people come to my door often in evenings and weekends with something Blantyre related. Often wanting me to hold on to things, I’ve quite a collection developing, worthy of a ‘wee museum’. The odd photograph, a certificate, an old newspaper, if it relates to Blantyre it’s of interest to me.
So what a surprise recently when David McIntosh, the owner of the former Glasgow Road furniture shop turned up with this lot! It was the first time we met and enjoyed a chat about old Blantyre. David has shared to Blantyre Project old photos, old Blantyre Advertiser newspapers, poems, documents, receipts and certificates which should keep me posting here for weeks! All this will appear on the site shortly. His kindness is sincerely appreciated.
