Catherine Scott shared these photos saying, “This is Robert Scott. Born in 1876, he was in the Highland Light infantry by 1894 at 18 years of age.” (pictured later)

Robert lived at Udston Rows. He married Elizabeth Sharp Eglinton, their marriage taking place on 24th of April 1903 at Hamilton. Elizabeth’s father was John Sharp, her Mother was Catherine Eglinton.

  1. I wonder if this is my husband’s family. He is a James Scott. Hid g grandmother was Elizabeth and his g grandfather was Robert. They had seven sons and one daughter Elizabeth.

  2. I have a Robert Scott living at 262 Dobbies Loan Cowcaddens Glasgow. Aged 18 years 6 months. Employed as Buffer. Joining HLI Army No 8835 for 6 years on 7th August 1895. The 1st Battalion served in South Africa during 2nd Boer War 1899-1902. The 2nd photo is most likely Boer War.

    1. The Regiment number I have for this Robert Scott is 5267 ….
