1910 Milheugh Bridge, Blantyre

1912 Millheugh Bridge-Colorized

A very special scene next. One of my favourites. The old black and white photo has been restored and colourised with subtle shades given to nature to show how Milheugh Bridge may have looked back in 1910. This is of course down the Calder. (Cawther)

An idyllic, sleepy picture in days free of vandalism or any river litter. The Calder River is low, but the lack of leaves on trees would suggest this is a Spring or Autumn scene. It’s unknown how old this former bridge was before the current 1950’s bridge was built.

With thanks to Scotland Colourised for exclusively putting colour to this location.
