Anthony Smith recently shared these two excellent photos from the 1960s.

Taken at Coatshill, one is from the former Priory Colliery Bing looking south back towards Blantyre with the Coatshill houses near the front. I have a firm belief that the Priory Bing was to this date the highest ever man made object in Blantyre, towering hugely over the height of other colliery bings, even after it collapsed in the mid 40s. The other brilliant photo is Anthony on his Triumph motorbike at Hillview Drive. The old pit bathhouse is in the background just beyond the railway.
