Going back 100 years on Station Road and how things have changed here. Things looked very rural heading down to the bottom of the road. The former gatehouse on the left on the western side of the road marking the start of Blantyre Works Village. Way down in the distance, the walls of Blantyre Lodge Estate, at a time before the grounds became David Livingstone Centre.
What’s your memories of this area? (It most likely is the houses that are there now, given how old they are!)

Jim Brankin William Mullen 16 although wd lived across a the road at first think Sadie Dolen lives there now and Maria lives in 16. Your family lived at the bottom of the street along from Gordon Fotheringham. Mullens and Maguires lived opposite one another.

David Lanaghan My father was brought up in knightswood terrace. The Clyde was his playground and that’s where his ashes went.
