Alex Bowie, who appears distantly on my own family tree has kindly shared this photo of his mother’s Livingstone Church Choir performing an Operetta called “Marjorie”.

The year of this photo is 1949 and the following was her best guess at the time of the cast:-

Berry, Margaret Bowie, Elizabeth Bowie, William Bowie, Roy Dunlop, Elizabeth Main, ? Gordon, ? Welsh and Margaret Merry (pianist).

Some considerable effort has clearly gone into the backdrops and costumes. Most of these Blantyre children would have been born during WW2. The number of boys is amazing, not sure you would get that many today! Again, I’ve zoomed on the faces.
