Livingstone Popup Exhibition

popupA wonderful new popup exhibition about the life of David Livingstone opens this weekend in Low Parks Museum in Hamilton.

The exhibition, run by the ‘David Livingstone Trust’ will explore key moments in the famous explorer’s life and of will detail just some of the accomplishments of Blantyre’s most famous son. The exciting exhibit will also inform the public about ongoing work to develop the David Livingstone Centre at Station Road Blantyre. Families will be delighted to see that a ‘selfie wall’ will be there allowing themselves to be put into pivotal moments of the explorer’s life, like for example being “attacked by the lion”. Look out too for reference to Blantyre Project.

Construction work has already started at the David Livingstone Centre in a £6.1million renovation, undertaken by primary contractor Clark Contracts. The centre remains closed for now.

The popup exhibition opens on Saturday 8th September 2018 at Low Parks Museum and will be at that location for 4 weeks, with further locations around Scotland expected afterwards.
