Another great wedding photo of family members. This time from 3rd August 1927. This is the wedding of Agnes Reid Duncan to John Reid.
Agnes was the sister of my great grandfather, John Duncan. Born in 1899, to parents John Duncan Snr and Christina Reid (my great, great grandparents), Agnes was a restaurant attendant in the 1920’s living at 23 Rosebank Avenue. Her best maid was elder sister Christina Duncan, who never married and settled at Broompark Road with her two spinster neices, Margaret and Chrissie. I remember Great Aunt Christina very well.
Some of the Duncan family lived at Priory Row, near the former Colliery, now where the Priory Playing fields are.
Her husband, John Reid , a Hamilton man who was a grocery manager, his best man brother William Reid.
