From 1999, this photo shows Station Road. A little blurry in times before digital photography, it does show the nice colours the houses were painted 2 decades ago.
Some of Blantyre’s buildings in the 1990’s went through a “fashionable” masonry paint overhaul. Another example of such colour was at the shops at the bottom of Stonefield Road.
