1978 Stonefield Park Trees Planted

1978 Trees planted at Stonefield Park wmWell, this picture from March 1978, just goes to show you can have green fingers at any age!

These young gardeners are members of Elizabeth Scott Community Centre Pre-school palygroup who supervised the work and made sure the Hamilton District Council were doing a good job of planting the new trees landscaping Stonefield Public Park!

The Council had embarked on a programme of getting children all over the area involved in tree planting, and for them to take pride and feel connected to these trees. A good idea.

Do you recognise any of these tots who would likely have been born around 1973 or 1974?
