The 1967 season got off underway at Blantyre Bowling Club with Mr Gavin Taylor, President (pictured right) welcoming a large group of attendees. Vice President Alex Paterson hands over the little silver jack to Mrs Taylor. Alex is standing beside his wife on the left.
The outside pictures lasted only a short time, for rain had other plans that evening. It was “indoors” for most of the evening for a special tea and a social evening. That particular year was the first where maximum membership was reached and for the first time, a “waiting list” had to be opened.
