If you were looking at this scene today you would be looking at the little grassy field near Family Shopper on Main Street, High Blantyre.
Pictured in 1913, is Main Street looking eastwards. To the left is the corner of Cemetery Road and just outwith the picture on the left is the bank and post office. A prominent feature is certainly the little boy staring right at the camera.
The shadows give away the fact there was a large tree across the road next to a building named Lint Butts. The shadows suggest this is an afternoon photo. In the background on the pavement a man with a satchel and 3 crates could possibly be one of the McLean Brothers sales team selling aerated water.
