McLean Aerated Water Bottles

Fellow local history enthusiast, Gordon Cook kindly shared these 2 photos, which tie in nicely to the recent articles about McLean Brothers, the aerated water bottlers of Main Street, High Blantyre.

Gordon told me, “A few years back Paul, the library at Hamilton gave my details to a man who got this bottle from his father’s house in Hamilton. It was very difficult to photograph. The bottle has on it “Springfield Mineral Water Co. High Blantyre” and you can see the emu in the middle.”

The emu was perhaps a trademark, something a bit different from the norm.
