Although slightly outwith Blantyre, the community at Loanend still feel connected to Blantyre itself, perhaps even more so than Cambuslang. Two great photos shared here by Alex Rochead, who made use of the fantastic weather in May 2016 to capture Loanend and Flemington on a sunny day.
The 10th May 2016 was an important day for the small community of Loanend residents. It saw the 3 month duration expire, in which time the wind turbine developer, who recently lost planning permission, could have put in an appeal. It means therefore that the Flemington Wind Turbine will not ever proceed and the residents have their victory, returning harmony once again to our nearest neighbours.
