A little blurry and perhaps not in the quality you’re used to seeing here on Blantyre Project, but the photo is from 1922 and worth archiving in our large collection of Schools photos. Sent in by Sandra Cunningham, it is believed her grandfather is sitting on the far right. Sandra is trying to obtain a higher resolution copy.

Gerry Walker Round about the 1971-72 season, St Josephs won the League, County Cup, runners up in The Shinwell Cup and won the Inter League Shield against St Peters from Laighstonhall. There was a picture of it in The Hamilton/Blantyre Advertiser at the time but alas my searches came to nothing. Maybe someone has a cutting from the paper and could share it with us all.

My Uncle Charlie Dolan could be in this photo. He was 9 or 10 years old in 1922 and attended St. Joseph’s Church. Thanks for this photo. Regards, Mike.
