As you may be aware, St Joseph’s Church was going through a renovation, well, the roof was. The old nail-sick slates removed and a brand new roof. Captured here in this photo by Robert Stewart on 4th May 2015 is the Church roof nearing completion. I have to say it looks amazing and very striking if you’re driving past on Glasgow Road.
It is this sort of investment, partially paid for by grants that will see Blantyre’s buildings reach far out generations into the future.
Update: During week ending 22nd May 2015, some low life stole the lead from the roof. This is the third time this has happened, although the first since the renovation. Its time for CCTV at this location.
