1960s View of Craigneith Castle

This photo dates from the 1960s. Pictured are the ruins of Craigneith Castle, near Calderside.

Nothing much remains of this building today, except for ruins about 7 foot tall. The castle was likely a folly, a romantic extension of the nearby Calderwood Castle, although unlike Calderwood Castle, Criagneith sat on the Blantyre side of the Parish boundary.
