I’m delighted to share an Animated picture that has kindly been created by Photoshop expert, Robert Brownlie! Robert has skillfully taken an old 1880 picture of Milheugh Mills at the bottom of the Pech Brae and merged it with the current 2014 photo, to put the old buildings firmly into a modern context.

You can read the story of how Alex Rochead and I investigated the Milheugh mills earlier this year, here

I’m a huge fan of ‘before and now’ merged photos, which I call “overlays”. They are such a fantastic reference tool, to take along on guided walks to show to people. Over the next few days, I’ll be bringing you more of Robert’s excellent work and seemless merges, which he has kindly chosen to share with Blantyre Project.
