I went an excellent walk up the High Calder today and had the benefit of an accomplished guide in the form of Blantyre man, Jim Brown. In fact, we went to some places i have never been to before, and only read about previously. Right on the fringes of Blantyre and East Kilbride, in the Calderwood Glen , is the Great Falls of the Calder. This is sometimes known as Castle Falls, due to it’s proximity to the old Calderwood castle and more locally, known as the Big Linn. This was a first for me and i managed to get some great photos.
There’s no easy access to this area, so i would not recommend going to see it alone. Thankfully, i took a small video for you all.
