1957 Auchentibber Farm

1957-wilsons-farm-blantyre-wmNorma Marr has emailed me from across the Atlantic, enclosing some fantastic old Blantyre photos commenting, “I am attaching some images that we have of Auchentibber Farm. I hope they will be of interest and perhaps of some use if these wonderful buildings are ever restored. I’m not really sure what our connection to the farm is but it was important enough that pictures were taken.”

Pictured in the 1950’s is Auchentibber Farm, the home of Mr and Mrs J Wilson. The building is today currently derelict.

On social media:

Janet Cochrane Norma they were probably just friends in a small community like Auchentibber everybody knew everybody else. I wish it still looked like that

  1. Wilma and her parents lived next door to my sister Alice. Perfect neighbours and a lovely family. I remember Wilma from Calder Street school.
Chatted with her parents a few times over the fence on some of my trips. 1982 when I was back for the Junior Cup final, which of course, the ‘VICS won! A bit more than a chat, more like a blether!

  2. I am in touch with Hughina now and again via e mail, I met up with Hughina a few years ago for lunch at the Avonbridge in Hamilton during one of my trips. A lovely lady.
She has 2 sons who share my passion in football.
