1934 Danskins at Broompark Rd

I love this photo from the mid 1930’s. Pictured on the left in the white dress is my gran Mary Danskin and her sisters, Jean, Agnes & Nellie. The Danskins lived in the drapers shop at the cross in Stonefield Road (more recently known as Collinses Newsagents).

This Summer 1934 photo is taken in the back garden. Gran later married John Duncan and moved nearby to Stonefield Crescent. She ended up having children Nancy, John, Margaret, Archie, David (dec as baby) and my mother Janet.

The shop is still there today still being used as a newsagents.
